Moderate quake hits Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted the northern Pakistani town of Chitral and its adjacent areas early Saturday.

The quake occurred around 5.20 a.m., Xinhua quoted local Urdu Dunya TV as saying. The tremor created panic among people. Chitral is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
