India completed a double, winning both men and women's titles at the Bangladesh Amateur Open golf championships at the Kurmitola Golf Club Saturday.

Manav Das completed a fine win and Anisha Padukone edged out teammate Millie Saroha for the women's title. One of India's most experienced amateurs, Das overcame some tense moments in the closing stages to card 74, his first over-par round of the week, and win by three shots.

Das, after rounds of 69, 68 and 71 in the first three rounds, totalled a six-under 282 that won him the title. Bangladesh's Md Nazim fired a final round of 72 and ended second at 285, while Dulal Hossain shot 69 and climbed to third spot at 288.

Manav Das had two birdies and one bogey on the front nine as he moved to nine-under for the tournament. But on the back nine, he bogeyed the tenth and 16th and then double bogeyed 17th as the gap narrowed to two. But he birdied the 18th to win by three shots.

Defending champion Khalin Joshi (73) ended sixth at five-over 293.

In the women's section, Anisha Padukone, who was tied with Millie Saroha for the lead, after the first round Friday, shot 75 and won by one shot. Millie carded 76 in both rounds for a total of 152, one behind Anisha's 76-75 for 151.

Apart from hosts Bangladesh, golfers from Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are participating in the meet.
