MOSCOW, 14th May, 2025 (WAM) -- Russia's international reserves rose by 5.1 percent to reach US$680.271 billion in April 2025.
The Central Bank of Russia reported that the reserves, which include gold and foreign currencies, increased from $647.358 billion to $680.271 billion during the month.
The value of gold within the reserves increased by $18.086 billion in April 2025, reaching $247.036 billion. At the same time, gold's share in the total reserves rose to a record high of 36.3 percent.
Russia's international reserves are highly liquid foreign assets held by the Central Bank of Russia and the Russian government. They consist of foreign currencies, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), and gold.
